This cartoon was drawn after the court ruled against the university in their admissions lawsuit. The judge said that race based admissions was unconstitutional. At that time it seemed that President Adams was in for quite a fight if he chose to continue using race in the admissions process. Unfortunately for this cartoon, Adams decided to relent and no longer use it, so this cartoon suddenly didn't make a whole lot of sense anymore.
